Praia da Areia Branca - A pearl on the west coast of Portugal :)

Praia da Areia Branca, 65 km north of Lisbon, is a typical seaside resort with little foreign tourism. The wonderful long sandy beach with its many surf spots offers a lot of waves for every surfer. Lonely beaches without other surfers can be found after a short walk in the adjacent bays. Located only 15 km south of the port city of Peniche, its beaches belong to Europe's best surfing area. The waves of the legendary surfspots Supertubos or Lagido are ridden by surfers from all over the world.

Praia da Areia Branca is a typical Portuguese seaside resort. Luckily there are only a few hotels or holiday resorts here, but there is still a lot of activity on the beach in August, as many Portuguese people come from the surrounding area for a swim. There is a lifeguard who looks after the right thing, and a lot of the typical beach tents. If you want to escape this hustle and bustle, you only need to walk along the beach and you will have another bay to yourself. Nevertheless, from 15 June to 15 September, there are three lifeguards supervised bathing places nearby. At the Atlantic coast there are rarely big waves in high summer and even then children can swim at low tide, as the waves run out over several hundred meters. Moreover, at low tide, many small pools are formed which can be used as natural swimming pools.

On the beach promenade there are a few small cafés and a restaurant. The place is particularly suitable for families with adolescent children, as there is a very nice and manageable nightlife and contact with the local youth is very easy. The express bus from Lisbon to Peniche also stops in this place, so that you can move around without a car. There is a small market every day, where you can also get fresh fish for the barbecue.
