We understand yoga as a combination of the body with the soul, as a cooperation of body, spirit and breathing, by what the overall energy of life is increasing and a certain inner serenity of our surf students is developed. The combination of surfing and yoga is an concept we think is essential and therefore we offer free yoga after surfing every day. Read more: Surf & Yoga.

Portugal

has the best conditions to surf in Europe. The fantastic long and sandy beach of Praia da Areia Branca, where our surfcamp is located, is offering lots of surf spots and waves for surf students of all levels. 12 km north the seaport Peniche is located, worldwide known as the best surfspot in Europe. The waves of legendary surfspots like "Supertubos" and "Baleal" are ridden from surfers of around the globe. Here, in autumn 2010 the "Rip Curl Pro" was taken place for the second time.

Rip Curl Pro
Portugal 2010

Following the success of the Rip Curl Pro Search in 2009, Rip Curl is heading back to Peniche in 2010. The ASP World Tour will take centre stage at Supertubos in Peniche, Portugal from October 7 to 18. "We are very happy to be holding this event once again in 2010 and we want to stage the event every year," said Francisco Spinola - Marketing Manager for Rip Curl Portugal and the project coordinator. "Along the coastline are some really excellent spots and unbelievable waves. We’re as motivated as ever to host the ASP Tour at Peniche once again, especially at the Supertubos spot. It’s a world-class wave that is certainly one of the best beach breaks in the world!" continued Spinola. Supertubos is a powerful wave that is fuelled by the long and deep swells coming from the Atlantic Ocean, which can reach up to 4 to 5 metres in height. Because it looks so similar to the Hawaiian Banzai Pipeline, many surfers have nicknamed this wave "the European pipe".
