Except that we don’t want you to go reap the potatoes on the land...You go SURFING! The 5-day surf course with Odeceixe Surf School will render you relaxed and happy! In the waves you loose your preoccupations and you’re only busy keeping yourself on your board. The sun and the sand make you come home like a new person!

On your arrival day we’ll welcome you with a basket full of sun-riped organic vegetables from the region. All ingredients for a healthy meal! You stay in one of the houses of Sra. Maria or Sra. Bertilia in Maria Vinagre. Maria Vinagre is a small, quiet village 5 km away from Odeceixe. It’s in between many beautiful beaches (Aljezur: Amoreira, Monte Clerigo – Rogil: Vale dos Homens, praia de Carriagem and Odeceixe: praia de Odeceixe)

Traditional Portuguese family surf is ideal for couples or families who want to stay in a private accommodation, but do like to have an activity during the day time. During the 5-day surf course you need to be on the beach of Odeceixe before 11h (11 a.m.).Your equipment will be provided and taken care off. In the afternoon you have another session at 16h (4 p.m.). Both lessons take 1.5 hour. Odeceixe beach has good toilet facilities and some nice bars and restaurants to have a lunch with sea-view. We recommend all of our guests to rent a car to explore our region. Public transport is not a very comfortable way to travel in the Algarve.

The southwest coast of Portugal is a surfer’s paradise. The unbroken waves rolling in from the Atlantic are perfect for training surfing skills. Odeceixe Surf School provides surf lessons for Algarve Surf Holidays. The school is located on Odeceixe beach where classes are held. On the sand you find a small beach hut where the class starts and where equipment can be rented. Lessons are two times a day. The morning session starts at 11.00h (11 a.m.). The afternoon lesson is at 16.00h (4 p.m.). These are indication times as the instructors sometimes wait until the tide is in a better condition to go surfing. One session lasts 1.5 hour. Our instructors are local surfers certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation, all of whom have lifeguard licenses and a huge knowledge of the region's beaches and its conditions.

The classes are made with a maximum of 8-10 students per instructor. Instructions are given in English or Portuguese. Conditions are perfect for beginners because the sandbanks and the small waves in the white water make you feel safe and comfortable. After a few lessons you will be able to make your stand-up and you’ll be confident enough to go outside (surf in the ‘green’ water further into the sea) with your instructor.

Terms and conditions:
- Prices are per person per week (7 nights) including welcome basket with organic regional products (Meals and transfers to the beach are NOT included)
- Minimum/maximum occupancy in the houses: 2-6 persons
- Half the number of people in the house must participate in the surf course
- Children aged 5 years or older with swimming diploma can participate in the surf course
- Check in after 16.00h
- Check out until 12.00h am.
- Bed linen and towels provided (towels are changed every three days, bed linen once a week)
