Three holiday apartments with a view on the Atlantic and the Desertas Islands, in the sunny south of Madeira. They are located in Gaula, an idyllic village surrounded by lavish vegetation, 20 minutes away from the city of Funchal. Far from crowded tourist centres, in the middle of blooming nature, it is a small exclusive apartment unit managed by German owners. All our apartments offer a splendid view on the Atlantic and the Desertas Islands. There is a shopping centre some 100 m away. It is an ideal place for trekkers and golfers. Two golf courses are 15 minutes' drive away. Funchal, the capital of Madeira, is within 20 minutes.

Apartment features:
The three apartments, type T1, have a living space of 73 m2. Each apartment consists of a living room with an open kitchen, a toilet and a terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a mini electric oven, a toaster, a coffee maker and an electric kettle. On the upper floor, there are bedrooms, a bathroom and a balcony. For your valuables there is a wall safe at your disposal free of charge. The apartment (for 4 persons) is furnished with taste and comfort. In every apartment there is a TV set with international channels and radio channels available via satellite. For relaxation, a sun bath or a grill party you are welcome to use the garden. When required, a washing machine, a dryer and an iron is at your disposal.

Location:
Gaula is a rural county located between Funchal and Santa Cruz airport, 400 m above the sea level. Within 100 m you can find a supermarket. The village Santa Cruz is a 10 minutes' drive away. Here you can find several local restaurants and a small natural beach. Funchal, Madeira's capital city, can be reached in 20 minutes' car drive. If you wish, we can rent a car for you, organise levada walking or cycling tours, off-road safaris, trips around the island, cruises along the south coast of Madeira, big game or trout fishing, golf rounds, diving courses, and cruises or flights to the neighbouring island of Porto Santo.

Madeira
High mountains, deep gorges, wide flower carpets, roaring surf. Madeira is the island of flowers in the middle of the ocean, yet so close. All year round the climate is mild, with average temperatures of 20°C in the winter and 25°C in the summer. There is no season without a profusion of flowers. The island is 600 km away from Africa and 900 km from Portugal, nearly at the latitude of Casablanca, its length is 57 km, its width 22 km. Most of the 280,000 inhabitants live in the capital city Funchal or nearby. The official language is Portuguese, but since the British have traditionally preferred this island as a summer resort, you can easily get through in English. In order to ensure an equal irrigation for the cultivation of fruit and vegetables, people constructed little canals all over the island, called levadas. Besides many exotic flowers such as strelicia, anthurium or orchid, you can find bananas, passion fruits, papayas and mangos which grow particularly well on the island. There are rare fine little sandy beaches and public baths embedded in the rocks for a swim or a sun bath. If you really want to enjoy the entire beauty and variety of the island we recommend you to hire a car. The interior of the island offers a lot of beautiful sites. There are breathtaking views on picturesque villages, deep valleys, terraced plantations, and the blue Atlantic Ocean. Alternatively, you may wander along the bilberry bushes and trough eucalyptus forests to the highest mountain of the island, Pico de Ruivo (1861 m). You can reach the neighbouring island of Porto Santo by plane in 20 minutes time. You can find there plenty of sandy beaches reaching as far as your eyesights goes.

The price is calculated as the total price for the number of persons indicated above and includes the costs of electricity, gas, water, final cleaning, bed linen and towels. Possible heating costs are charged extra on departure. The price is given for a stay of minimum 7 nights or more. Arrivals are possible at any day of the week. Earliest arrival time: 4 pm. Latest departure time: 12 am. Families with babies and children are particularly warmly welcome.
