The house is located on an approximately 1.7 ha property in the proximity of the village Quelfes, about 15 km east of Faro. There is a wonderful view on the countryside and the east Algarve coast. It is a rural area without mass tourism, ideal for people with more individual demands. On the quietly situated property grow oranges, tangerines and a great variety of exotic fruit trees, like avocados, mangos and bananas. The nearby surroundings invite you for a stroll, but also for longer hiking trips. If you are looking for silence and relaxation, you will get you money's worth here.

You can take a dip in the swimming pool which belongs to the house, or drive to the seaside, to the clean sandy beaches of the nature reserve Ria Formosa. The beaches are all located on the sandy offshore islands, and can be easily reached by ferryboats from Fuseta or Olhão. In Pedras Del Rei you reach the sea on foot, over a pontoon bridge (about 10 min.), or by a narrow gauge railway. These small efforts are worthwhile: there are splendid, unspoiled beaches which you rarely find elsewhere in Europe and, most appealingly, even in the high season you can easily find almost empty areas.

There are shopping possibilities either in a little shop about 800 m away or ,with a little more choice, in Moncarapacho (4 km). The nearest bigger town is Olhão (6 km). You can do the shopping there in a colourful market hall next to the port (fish and vegetables), or in several big supermarkets. Casa Lagarta is a new house, built in a style typical of the region. There are two excellent apartments for rent; the third one is used by the owners.

A ground-floor apartment for 4 persons with a separate entrance. 2 bedrooms (1 double bed, 1 bunk bed; ideal for two adults and two children), a bathroom with a shower and a toilet, a living room with a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen unit (an electric cooker, a fridge, a coffee maker etc.), as well as a sitting area with a great sea view, central heating, a safe deposit, a TV with satellite connection on demand.

In Casa Lagarta there is also the apartment 603b Casa Lagarta "Ninho" for rent and (only together with it) a separate double room 603c Casa Lagarta Obliquo.

The price is calculated as the total price for the number of persons indicated above and includes the costs of electricity, gas, water, final cleaning, bed linen and towels. Possible heating costs are charged extra on departure. The price is given for a stay of minimum 7 nights or more. Arrivals are possible at any day of the week. Earliest arrival time: 4 pm. Latest departure time: 12 am. Families with babies and children are particularly warmly welcome.
