Come enjoy our cozy two-bedroom windmill located just an hour north of Lisbon and 10 minutes from the beaches of Portugal's famous Silver Coast.
Situated on a mountain top overlooking the sea, this romantic accommodation is perfect for couples looking for a quiet country getaway. Moinho 98 is also an ideal base for surfers of all levels looking to explore the area and catch some of the best waves in the world!
The windmill offers a history in itself. Listed as an ethnographic/industrial heritage monument with classification no. 98 (hence its name), it has been renovated with care and style and transformed from a ruin into a modern, comfortable vacation home that will make you feel instantly at home.
The factory has three floors:
- At the top is the romantic master bedroom. From the bed, you get an unobstructed view over the countryside, with the sea in the distance.
- The bathroom is on the middle floor, with easy access from both bedrooms.
- On the lower level you will find the second bedroom with a double sofa bed, great for another couple or for children. The living room, also on the lower level, has an open kitchen and large floor-to-ceiling windows on the side facing the view - an ideal spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine!
The Mill 98 is located just outside the small village of Toxofal do Cima, with easy access to all the amenities of the nearby town of Lourinhã (5 minutes).
It is also close to must-see historical sites such as the town and castle of Óbidos (30 minutes) and the famous beaches of Areia Branca and Peralta (5 minutes), Supertubos in Peniche (10 minutes) and Nazaré (45 minutes).
Other attractions in the area include:
- Lourinhã Dino Park, a large amusement park for children (5 mins)
- Buddha Eden Garden of Peace, a local curiosity (20 mins)
- The town of Caldas da Rainha and its beautiful traditional ceramics (30 mins)

- For surfers, there are two water taps outside the mill to wash your gear. Please leave your boards and wetsuits outside - they will dry faster and you will avoid dirtying the house with sand!
